Christmas at the Square

"Come out to the Hammond Square for a holly jolly time! There will be many activities for the kids including Santa and Mrs. Claus, selfie photos, pony rides, a petting zoo and much more! This event is free and open to the public."

Fireworks Weekend at the Renaissance Festival
When: Dec 8-9
Time: 6:00pm
If you plan to come to the Renaissance Festival, make sure to bring a blanket to keep in your car. After closing cannon, grab your blanket and gather around the lake to watch one of the best firework shows in Louisiana!

Paws Meet Claus Christmas Event

"Back for its 5th year, we invite all Northshore families to join us for New Orleans Moms Blog's popular Donuts With Santa event! Guests can expect a visit with Santa, donuts and the chance to win some fun giveaways with donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana. We are also pleased to have coffee, a reindeer food station, little yogi fun, cookie decorating and fun times from The Little Gym of the Northshore. We'll also have a photo booth and face painting from Art on the Geaux so make plans to join us! Tickets are on sale now!"

Christmas Past Festival

Time: 10 am- 3 pm
"Come enjoy holiday fun for the whole family! There will be over 100 artists and vendors. We will also have food trucks, live music, train rides, carriage rides, games, children’s snow village, Santa Claus, pet adoptions, Santa Paws photos, Irish dancing, Northshore Roller Derby, and so much more!

Remember to wear your favorite Christmas sweater! Dressing up is encouraged and adds to the fun!

After the festival, join us at the Lakefront for Winter on the Water. Santa and his crew will parade on the Lakefront at 4 pm, stopping at the gazebo for live entertainment and the Lighting of the Oaks ceremony!"

The Arts Council of Livingston Parish
"The Arts Council of Livingston Parish will host a “100 Under 100” Exhibit for the months of November and December.  Artists of various mediums will flood the gallery with 100 items priced under $100, as well as a few over, for the upcoming holiday shopping season.   Now is the time to find the perfect gift of art for that art lover or that hard to buy for person, while supporting local artists."

This year's theme is Christmas on the Bayou! The parade will begin at Healing Place Church and end at the corner of Range Ave. and Veterans Blvd.

Christmas Candlelight Yoga

Holiday Cookie Decorating Class

Get in the holiday spirit with this cookie decorating class! The Arts Council of Livingston Parish is hosting this class on December 15th with instructor Shelly Frederick.  The fee is $25 for you and one child (ages 6 & up) and includes all supplies.  You will leave with one dozen decorated cookies!

Boughs and Bows Holiday
Wreath and Centerpiece Workshop

Where: The Sentimental Petal

"Join us for our second annual Boughs and Bows Holiday Wreath & Centerpiece Workshop. In this three hour, hands-on workshop students will learn tips and tricks to incorporate fresh flowers into their daily lives by making a holiday centerpiece and a fresh floral and evergreen wreath. Michelle will teach you how to select the best blooms at your local market, how to proccess and care for fresh flowers and make them last, and we will provide you with a set of basic tools no flower girl should be without. We will cover the fundamentals of design while creating 2 holiday arrangement to take home!"

Annual Zachary Christmas in the Village
Entire month of December starting the 7th
Where: Zachary Historical District
Time: 5:45-9pm
Visit Whoville at this year's Christmas in the Village celebration! Come meet and greet the Whoville characters and be sure to bring your camera for a picture.  Santa will be located at the Whoville House at the corner of Virginia and Florida Streets. There will be many activities such as live music, Christmas performances, yard games, crafts and interaction with live farm animals. A holiday LED light show, featuring thousands of blinking and twinkling lights synchronized to Christmas music will run every evening from 6 pm to 10 pm in the Zachary Historical District. Motorists are invited to set their radio dials to 105.9 FM and drive through Zachary’s Historic Village, starting December 1st through January 6th. For more information on this event, click here.

Snow Day

Here in Louisiana, we rarely get to enjoy the snow. On December 8th, 50 tons of "snow" will be spread in Lafreniere Park! This event is free to the public, so come out and enjoy the snow while you can!

Storytime With Santa
When: December 15
Where: Little Bookworm in Metairie
Time: 3:30-4:30
"Come enjoy cookies and milk (coffee for adults) with Santa as he reads the beloved "Cajun Night Before Christmas." Tickets also include pictures with Santa and a chance for kids to tell Santa their wishlist for Christmas. Santa will also have a surprise gift in his bag for all the boys and girls."

7th Annual NOLA Families in Need Wrapping Party
December 16
Mike Miley Playground in Metairie
"We hope you make it out to our 7th Annual Toy Drive! We will need all the help we can get to wrap and package all of these gifts brought to the toy drive and the also the gifts purchased by our gracious sponsors and donations! There will be food, games and tons of toys to wrap! The event is always family friendly and fun for all ages! This is a costume friendly event so wear your best ugly sweaters and come in full Christmas gear! There will be a best costume contest with prizes given! So come festive with the friends and family ready to wrap and party together for a great cause! "

Mommy & Me Christmas Tea

"The 2018 Houma Downtown Christmas Festival and Parade will be bigger and better than ever! We will continue to grow our light displays and add more fun, food, games, crafts and music for the community to enjoy, The weather forecast is already calling for SNOW flakes! We will once again be offering the community an opportunity to GIVE BACK through our Giving Tree Lot so be on the look out for this and other Festival information through out the coming months. Hosted by your very own St. Charles Humane Society to provide medical care of our shelter residents.

A Candy Cane Celebration
