A Night in Havana-Annual HRAC Membership Gala

Special Olympics State Summer Games
May 24-26

Where: Southeastern Louisiana University
This is an event for all Areas. Male and female athletes from across the state will compete in Athletics (Track & Field), Bocce, Powerlifting and Unified Volleyball. For more information, click here.

5th Annual Riff Ridgel Crawfish Cook Off Competition
When: May 19
Where: Tickfaw Festival Grounds
Time: 11 AM-4 PM
"This annual crawfish cook-off kicks off crawfish season while supporting local families and individuals affected by catastrophes or illness. Enjoy all the crawfish you can eat while listening to amazing music and supporting a worthy cause." For more information, click here.

Madisonville Chamber of Commerce Crawfish Boil and Membership Drive

Where: Madisonville Riverfront & Town Hall
Time: 6-9 PM
"The Greater Madisonville Area Chamber of Commerce presents its annual Crawfish Boil & Membership Drive. Admission is $10 for members, $15 for non-members." For more information, click here.

Olde Towne Crawl Block Party
When: May 3
Where: Olde Towne Slidell
Time: 5-10 PM
"The free, pet-friendly block party has local artists, crafters, food vendors, small businesses, charitable/animal organizations with pet adoptions, children's crafts and games and three live music acts on each street. Businesses offer after-hours shopping, and patrons are welcomed to dine and drink at any of the 10 restaurants/bars along the route."

Crawfish and Roses Crawfish Cook Off

Where: Abita Brewing Company

Sunset at the Landing Concert
May 17
Columbia Street Landing on the Bogue Falaya River
6-9 PM

"Sunset at the Landing concerts are free, outdoor performances held every third Friday from March to October on Covington's former Columbia Street boat landing, now a permanent performance stage overlooking scenic Bogue Falaya River. Concerts feature regional and touring artists performing jazz, bluegrass, folk, blues and more. All are encouraged to bring refreshments and chairs or blankets for lawn seating. Some bench seating is also available."

Mandeville Family Reunion

"Whether you currently live in Mandeville or just want to come back and visit, you are invited to join and share in the spirit of the unique beauty of Mandeville, Louisiana. The free event opens the area to picnicking, usually off-limits alongside the lake. Events kick off with opening ceremonies at 10am, live music starting at 11am, with food vendors, picnicking along the entire lakefront, and a free park-and-ride shuttle from 10am to 8pm." South LA Crawfish Boil, Craft and Car Show

Join Dreams Come True on May 4th for a day of fun at the South Louisiana Crawfish Boil Craft and Car Show. From crawfish boils, competitions, kids activities and more, the day will surely be fun for the whole family. All proceeds from the event will go to helping making our dream kids’ dreams come true. 9th Annual Cabela's BP4Kids Fishing Derby

"Join us Saturday, May 11, 2019 for the 9th Annual BP4KIDS Fishing Derby. It will be a morning of fishing, fun, and awareness! One lucky derby entrant will win a guided fishing trip for two donated by Last Cast Guide Services. Kids ages 3-15 can enter to fish the derby in Cabelas pond for a $10.00 donation to the NPBPAF. Jambalaya Festival

"Your whole family will enjoy the vast variety of food, fun, music and activities that have made the Jambalaya Festival the can’t miss highlight of the year. Crawfish King Cook Off

Lunchtime Lagniappe! Peculiar Tales, Traditions and Recipes from the Bayou

National Public Gardens Week

"Join us and hundreds of gardens across the United States for National Public Gardens Week! Activities for all ages will be themed around the importance of our environment. Educational sessions will take place in the Ione E. Burden Conference Center. Local organizations will provide information on plants. The event is free and open to the public. Paddle Palooza Kayak Tournament

"The Bayou Coast Kayak Fishing Club is a volunteer run organization with a strong focus on developing all aspects of kayak fishing and paddling as a recreational and competitive sport in Louisiana and throughout the Gulf Coast. Old South Jamboree

"The Old South Jamboree was started by Lester an Dee Hodges in the mid 1960’s It was started as a concert hall that the entire family could come to and enjoy good country music and a family environment. Most of the great artists have performed on the stage of the Old South including Merle Haggard, George Jones, Dolly Parton and many, many others. And now, some 45 years later, Mr. Hodges is still behind the snack bar providing hot dogs and pop corn, and it is still a venue that you can bring your entire family to." Mother's Day Class

"The Arts Council of Livingston Parish invites children ages 8-12 years old to our Mother’s Day Class.  Children will design, draw, and color a Mother’s Day spring floral picture using a chalk pastel and water technique with instructor Sara Smith.  The class will be held on May 11th from 10:30 am till noon at the gallery, 133 Hummell St. D.S.  The cost for the class is $10, and that includes supplies." Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics

"Come join us for the 2019 Law Enforcement Torch Run May 16 to benefit the Louisiana Special Olympics. Runners and bike riders are encouraged to participate. Residents also are welcome to cheer on participants along the route. The 8-mile event begins at 8:30 a.m. at Frostop on Airline Highway in LaPlace. Participants will travel along designated streets from LaPlace to Reserve, ending at St. Peter Church. A post run celebration will be held at Frenier’s Landing in LaPlace." 112th Jackson Day Race
When: January 6
Where: Aycock Barn
Time: 7-11 AM
"Run or walk the most historic road race in the Southeast at the 112th Jackson Day Race. Enjoy the sights of the Chalmette Battlefield as we celebrate the American victory at the Battle of New Orleans! The 112th Jackson Day Race course will continue to be the traditional 9K distance, and will be followed by a post-race party at the Aycock Barn. The 112th Jackson Day Race is produced by the New Orleans Track Club, with members and non-members welcome to participate. Participants of all speeds and abilities are encouraged to join the fun."
