Light Up the Sky on the 4th of July
Where: Zemurray Park
When: July 4
Time: 6-9 PM
Take the kids out to see the Hammond firework show at Zemurray Park! Make sure to bring chairs so you can sit back and enjoy the show!

Seersucker and White Linen Southern Summer Social
When: July 13
Where: Blythewood Plantation
Time: 6-10:30 PM
"The Seersucker and White Linen Southern Summer Social will be held on July 13th at Blythewood, a plantation listed on the national history register, and one of the first homes built in Amite. The event will feature an art stroll, jazz music, later a dance band fabulous food, festive booths, specialty drinks and more to be added. The conclusion of the Blue Dog Raffle will be at 10PM, and there will be surprise live auction valuable items also."

Hammond Farmers Market
When: Every Saturday
Where: Downtown Hammond

"Come out to purchase the freshest locally-grown produce the Northshore has to offer, along with unique art crafted by local artisans. Buying local foods is a great way to support your community and the environment while also improving your health. Local food is fresher and has fewer preservatives than the produce transported from across the country. Pearl River 4th of July Celebration
When: July 3
Where: Pearl River Town Hall and Downtown
Time: 6-9 PM
"Come to Pearl River, Louisiana for small town fun at the 3rd Annual 4th of July Celebration! It's free and open to the public. Pie eating contest, field games including sack, blindfold and three-legged races, hula hoop contest, petting zoo and more. Fireworks display at dusk. Bring your chairs and the whole family."

Sparks in the Park

Where: Bogue Falaya Park
Time: 6:30-9 PM
"Bring your picnic baskets and lawn chairs or blankets to Bogue Falaya Wayside Park in Covington for the 6th annual Sparks in the Park, an Independence Day Celebration, on Wednesday, July 3. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free."

Dr. Saux's Annual Fundraiser and Birthday Celebration
When: July 27
Where: Columbia Street Tap Room and Grill

Dancing for a Cause

Where: Lamar Dixon 4-H Building

"The event showcases community leaders and prominent citizens of the Ascension Parish and surrounding area, as they transform into Star Dancers to present live ballroom performances with their professional dance partners at the Lamar Dixon 4-H Building located at 931 St. Landry Rd. Annual Kids Fishing Rodeo
When: July 27
Where: Twin Lakes Park

Time: 7-9 AM
"Please bring your own rod and reel, limited supply of crickets provided, you may bring your own live bait, no artificial lures, keep all fish that are caught: bring folding chairs and bucket for fish."

4th of July Cookie Decorating Class
When: July 3
Where: Light House Coffee
Time: 7-8:45 PM
"Each participant will receive step by step instructions to decorate 5 cookies (as shown), 6 personal icing bags, sprinkles and edible glitter, and a bakery box to take the cookies home with them. Learn from local cookie artist, Jackie with Jackie's Sweet Shapes, the basics of royal icing, piping techniques, "flooding", wet on wet techniques, detailing and more during this class. We will be renting out the entire building at the beautiful Light House Coffee where drinks and desserts will be available for purchase during the event. Limited to the first 50 participants."

One Giant Leap for Mankind

"Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo lunar landing with hands-on activities from 10 AM to 2 PM and special planetarium shows from 10 AM to 5 PM, including the recently-released Apollo 11: First Steps Edition. Also, check out a display on the moon landing in Science Station and authentic lunar samples in our atrium!"

Feed the Multitudes Festival
When: July 4
Where: Victory Fellowship
Time: 10 AM-3 PM
"This year they are celebrating 30 years of providing this annual, free food festival on July 4th to feed and meet the needs of nearly 5,000 people from the Greater New Orleans area. In addition to serving 4,000 pieces of BBQ chicken, thousands of servings of hot dogs, jambalaya, red beans and rice and desserts, they also give away over 500 pairs of new shoes and socks, free haircuts and manicures. Grand Isle Independence Day Celebration

Grand Isle Annual International Tarpon Rodeo

Duckin' Out for the Arts 2019

"The 4th annual Duckin’ Out for the Arts presented by Peoples Drug Store is a fundraiser and membership drive for the Bayou Regional Arts Council will be on on Friday, July 12 at the Bayou Terrebonne Waterlife Museum located at 7910 Park Avenue in downtown Houma from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Get access to an exclusive silent auction of artistic pieces that feature our very own artists of South Louisiana. Programs that are supported through the Bayou Regional Arts council will be making an appearance to showcase what they do and how your continued support helps. The prized possession of our auction are the duck decoys that are decorated by our regional artists. Each decoy is decorated, painted, and/or created to make them unique each year." Juice Fest

"Outdoor music festival featuring special guests, food, kid activities, backpack giveaways, and more! This is an alcohol free, drug free, multicultural family oriented event."

Downtown Live After 5
When: July 26
Where: Courthouse Square in Houma
Time: 7-10 PM
"The mission of the Downtown Live After 5 series is to bring visitors to enjoy a free concert with local musicians, while encouraging people to visit our local shops, restaurants, and night time entertainment. After all expenses incurred during the year are paid, the remaining profits go towards downtown advertising, refreshing banners along Main and Barrow Streets, and sponsoring other local events that occur in the downtown area."

35th Annual St Bernard Salutes America Celebration
When: July 3

The Rat Pack is Back

Pelicans Junior Training Camp

Where: Val Riess Sports Complex

"The New Orleans Pelicans will host a FREE Junior Training Camp (JTC) on July 30, 2019 for ages 7 to 13. Limited space is available. The camp will take place at Val Riess Sports Complex, located at 1101 Magistrate Street in Chalmette. The first session is for ages 7-9 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and the second session is for ages 10 to 13 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants will learn the basics while having fun with the Pelican’s Dance Team, Pierre the Pelican, and many more. Register at the Recreation Department by July 19, 2019."

Cajun Music Jam at the Legion

"Get to know Cajun Bayou through the sounds of traditional Cajun music played by local musicians. The Cajun Jam happens every first and third Wednesday night of the month at Gina's at the Legion. Sing along or bring your own instrument. Beginners and all ages are welcome! This event is free."

Let Freedom Ring Festival
Where: Peltier Park

Golden Meadow Fourchon Tarpon Rodeo
Where: Golden Meadow
When: July 5-7
Time: Varies
"See some of the biggest fish you can catch in the Gulf at this rodeo. The Tarpon Rodeo features a fishing tournament, live music, and great Cajun food. This is a family friendly event." For more information, click here.
