First Friday's at Gypsy Hill

"Join us every 1st Friday of each month for an amazing Sip+Shop party featuring regional businesses."

Art and Wine Stroll
When: September 14
Where: Downtown Ponchatoula
Time: 5 PM-8 PM
"Save the Date for the 5th Annual Art & Wine Stroll in Downtown Ponchatoula! Shops will be open late, for local artists to display their work, along with the students at the local schools and as always wine samples. there is lots to do and see on this special night. Arm bands are $20.00 for the wine, but we also will have punch and assorted other drinks on hand, and snacks along the 4 block stroll."

Carter Royale

Where: Carter Plantation

"Please join the Springfield Fire & Rescue and Springfield High Baseball team as they host Carter Royale Casino Night. The fun starts Saturday, September 14, 2019. The doors open at 6:30 at the Carter Plantation Atrium. Come dressed to impress for an evening full of fun and entertainment. Event Entry also Includes Hors d'oeuvres, Wine and Alcohol tasting, music, and chances to win great prizes."

Tangipahoa Parish 150th Anniversary Celebration

Where: Florida Parishes Arena
Time: 11:30 AM-4 PM
Join us to commemorate and honor our proud past, recognize the milestones that made a significant impact along the way, and reflect our promising future. There will be music, concessions, contests, children's activities and much more!

Pastalaya Cook Off
When: September 28
Where: Ponchatoula Lions Club
Time: 6 AM-2 PM
"READY, SET, COOK. Please join the Ponchatoula Lion's Club as they host a Pastalaya Cookoff. There will be a $25.00 entry fee. Cooking will start at 6:00am until 10:00am. Judging will start at 10:00am-11:00am. The public will be able to taste the food at 11:00am. It will be $7.00 a bowl for the rest of the day."

Pups & Pints Beaux Geaux at Chafunkta Brewing
When: Recurring Weekly on Sundays
Where: Chafunkta Brewing Company

"Make your Sunday a true FUNDAY with Chafunkta Brewery's and "Pups and Pints BeauxGeaux," all day Sundays! A brainchild of Chafunkta's own BEERtender Casey Barocco, you can bring your dog to the brewery on Sundays and get BEAUXGEAUX (Buy One Get One) all day long (open 11 PM-6 PM). Don't have a pup or can't bring one? That's OK, as 10% of ALL SALES will go to the Northshore Humane Society."

Gulf Coast Sportsmen and Outdoor Expo
When: September 13-September 15
Where: The Harbor Center

"Vendors from across the Gulf states will offer their latest products and services to hunters, fishermen, campers and sports enthusiasts. The trade show will include product booths, live music by Supercharger (Saturday) along with giveaways and door prizes. Tickets are $10 per day or $17 for a weekend pass." For more info, click here.

Honey Island Swamp Fest
When: September 14
Where: Pearl River Town Hall
Time: 11 AM-11 PM
"The Town of Pearl River and Pearl River Lions Club present the Honey Island Swamp Fest on Saturday, September 14, 2019, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., taking place at Pearl River Town Hall, 39460 Willis Alley, and surrounding streets. Admission is $5 for ages 13 and up, free for children 12 and under. The music festival features five bands, children's activities, hay rides, rubber duck races, a car show, antique and sports displays, food, arts and crafts vendors and more." Photo Credit

Beach Sweep at Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge
When: September 21
Where: Lacombe
Time: 9 AM-12 PM
"Help keep your water and wetlands clean! Each year, Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge and the Friends of Louisiana Wildlife Refuges partners with the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation and the Ocean Conservancy to clean up waterways and beaches around the Lake Pontchartrain Basin. "Beach Sweep," now in its 30th year, will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019. Volunteers are needed to pick up thousands of pounds of debris. A crew of 30 volunteers is needed from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. that will target litter clean up on Lake Road. Lake Road on Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge is the most visited public use site on any of the eight refuges in Southeast Louisiana. Nearly 100,000 people annually use this area for fishing, wildlife observation, the free boat launch, and recreational crabbing. To thank volunteers, the Friends will host a picnic lunch for participants and each volunteer will receive a free t-shirt. Beach Sweep is an excellent avenue for stewardship, education, and outreach."

Gun and Knife Show

Anything Outdoors Fall Fest

Bring your family out to the 3rd annual Fall Fest! There will be a Jambalaya cook off, bands, auctions, and many activities for the whole family!

Ascension Hot Air Balloon Festival

Where: Lamar Dixon Expo Center

"Hot air balloons, entertainment, music, food, fun and surprises.  On the lush green fields of the Lamar Dixon Expo Center, you and your family can take in the sights of the festival in a relaxed and comfortable setting, while enjoying the rural, open spaces. Swamp Fine Art Show: Feathers, Scales, and Tails
When: September 1-22
Where: BREC's Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center
Time: 9 AM-5 PM
"Through Sept. 22, stop by Bluebonnet Swamp to view nature-inspired works of art. An artist reception will be held when visitors can meet participating artists, enjoy some light refreshments, and stick around for announcement of the show’s winners after 4 p.m. Prizes are awarded for Visitors’ Choice and Best in Theme in both youth and adult categories. There is no fee to enter artwork and we encourage participation by artists of all ages and skill levels and children too!"

Public Star Party at LSU-Landolt Astronomical Observatory

Where: Landolt Astronomical Observatory
Time: 8 PM-9 PM
"Star Party! Public viewing of the Moon, Jupiter & Saturn in the Landolt Astronomical Observatory on top of Nicholson Hall in the LSU Quadrangle. Admission is free and you need not bring anything. The observatory was built in the late 1930's and is not handicapped accessible."

Zoo & Me Morning
When: Recurring Monthly on the 2nd Tuesday
Where: Baton Rouge Zoo

"Geaux Tigers! We all love the tigers, especially the ones that live at our Zoo! Held the second Tuesday of every month, this program is designed for 3- to 5-year-old children accompanied by a parent or guardian. Programs are 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and will incorporate many exciting activities including a train ride, animal encounters, art projects, "Zooper" snacks and many other hands-on projects that you and your child can enjoy together"

2019 Walk to End Alzheimer's

"Join us in the fight to help end Alzheimer's Disease, the 6th leading cause of death and it has no cure. Come and join the fight with us! All funds raised through Walk to End Alzheimer's further the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. The Alzheimer's Association is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law."

Craftin' Cajun Craft Show

"This indoor craft show and marketplace will feature vendors selling crafts, sweets, decor, gifts, fashion, and beauty products. Parking and admission are free.

Duckin' Out for the Arts
When: September 12
Where: Bayou Terrebonne Waterlife Museum
Time: 6:00 PM
"This fundraiser artists from south Louisiana decorate ducks and donate art to be auctioned off to support the Bayou Regional Arts Council. It was rescheduled from July 13 due to Hurricane Barry. Tickets are $40 at the door or two for $60."

The Gala Goes Gatsby
When: September 19
Where: Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center
Time: 6:30 PM
"The annual fundraiser for the Mary Bird Perkins TGMC Cancer Center, formerly known as Ladies Night Out, allows all to sip on libations from the period, dress in their '20s best and mingle in a cocktail party setting while experiencing mission moments focused on patients and survivors throughout the evening." Downtown on the Bayou

"Musical celebration formerly Downtown Fall Fest, showcasing local musical talent. Event also includes jambalaya and pastalaya cook-off. Proceeds from this event will be disbursed to local school music programs for the purpose of purchasing and repairing instruments, as well as other learning materials."

Battle for the Bayou

Downtown Arts Walk

"Our Downtown Arts Walk, held in the Spring and Fall, invites all members of the community to stroll through our retail and restaurant corridors as we showcase some of the talented individuals who call our area home. Historic Downtown Thibodaux serves as an amazing backdrop for the culture we all hold so close to our hearts. The Downtown Arts Walk is free to the public and we are excited to bring this event to life. All of the proceeds from the Downtown Arts Walk are donated directly to Thibodaux Main Street, Inc. and will help us to keep up the revitalization and promotion of Historic Downtown Thibodaux."
