Tangipahoa Parish Fair
When: October 2-6
Where: Tangipahoa Parish Fair Grounds
Time: Varies
The Tangipahoa Parish Fair was originally created in 1888 making it the oldest fair in the State of Louisiana. It is commonly known as the Tangipahoa Parish Free Fair due to the fact that we do not charge a gate fee to enter the fairgrounds and is always held the first Saturday in October. The Fair is a perfect place for family and friends to come together for a day full of fun and memories. For more information, click here.

Vintage Market Days of Southeast Louisiana

Where: Florida Parishes Arena

"Vintage Market Days is an upscale vintage-inspired indoor open air market featuring original art, antiques, clothing, jewelry, handmade treasures, home décor, outdoor furnishings, consumable yummies, seasonal plantings and a little more. Vintage Market Days events are so much more than a flea market. Each Vintage Market Days event is a unique opportunity for vendors to display their talents and passions in creative venues."

Ponchatoula FFA Cook Off

Fall Festival

St Tammany Parish Fair
When: October 2-6
Where: St Tammany Parish Fair Grounds
Time: Varies
"Held each year during the first full weekend of October, the fair is a full week of agricultural and horticultural exhibits, music, food, talent showcases, a rodeo, Fair Queen, Rodeo Queen and Princess Pageants, and of course, the ever-popular Midway rides. The fair is open through the week for exhibitor competitions, which open to the general public on Friday, starting with a parade through downtown Covington at 10:00 AM. The parade starts on Jefferson Avenue and travels to Boston and up Columbia Street, concluding at the fairgrounds at 1304 N. Columbia St. to opening ceremonies on the Main Stage at 11:00 AM.

Olde Towne Zombie Crawl
When: October 4
Where: Olde Towne Slidell
Time: 5-10 PM
"Bring your friends, family and pets to the Olde Towne Crawl block party, Halloween-time edition, with live music, vendors, arts and crafts, shopping, kids' activities including trick-or-treating, food and beverages, pet adoptions and more. Bring your lawn chairs!"

Fall for Art

The free event showcases new works and one-night-only shows at Covington's art galleries and dozens of downtown shops, all by regional and nationally-renowned artists. "The Ghosts of Hollywood Past" Murder Mystery Dinner

Where: Annadele's Plantation Restaurant Bed and Breakfast

"Back by popular demand, Annadele's Plantation Restaurant hosts Murder a la Carte, Inc. for a Murder Mystery Dinner on Saturday, October 26: "The Ghosts of Hollywood Past." The restaurant's annual spooky-fun dinner party typically sells out, so be sure to make reservations early--and be the first audience to attend this newly-written show! It is said that spirits can come alive on All Hallows Eve. And, Annadele's is known to be quite the gathering place for spirits-even some famous. Nightmare on Columbia

The Covington Business Association will host the inaugural Nightmare on Columbia Stroll, Costume Contest & Concert in Downtown Covington on Saturday, Oct. 26 (Rain Date: Oct. 27)! Costumes and revelry will abound as patrons fill the streets of Downtown Covington strolling from business to business to sample 20+ craft cocktails and craft beers!

Cajun Street Rod Nationals

Where: Lamar Dixon Expo Center
Time: 8 AM-5 PM
Bring the whole family for a day of fun at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center! Although everyone will enjoy the spectacular vehicles as well as the vehicles’ owners there are other activities the family will enjoy.

Donaldsonville Festa Italiana
When: October 19
Where: Crescent Park Downtown Donaldsonville
Time: 12-10 PM
"See downtown Donaldsonville transformed into a proper Italian festa this weekend as the community honors the history and heritage of its Italian settlers. Pots and pots and pots of pasta are promised thanks to Chef Giacomo Russo's Spaghetti Sauce Cook-Off—featuring divisions in meatballs, sausage, or open class (put it all in!). The festival will round out with a special performance by King Pa Ka Yea' Band at 6 pm. Noon–10 pm at Crescent Park."

Brew at the Zoo
When: October 4
Where: Baton Rouge Zoo
Time: 7-10 PM
Our 6th Annual BREW at the Zoo promises to be the best one yet! Guests (21+) are invited to the Zoo for an evening of food sampling, beer tasting, live music & much more. It's a sellout every year! Pre-purchased tickets are required for entry. For more information, click here!

Corn Maze
When: Every Saturday in October
Where: LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens
Time: 10 AM-5 PM
The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens Corn Maze is a family friendly day of fall fun with numerous farm related activities. Every Saturday on October 5th,12th, 19th and 26th from 10am-5pm join the crazy mazy fun with hayrides, zip lining, face painting, Bayou Goula’s Petting Zoo, pumpkin decorating and more! Corn Maze has thousands of visitors each year and is Baton Rouge’s most aMAZEing event! Enjoy hamburgers, food from local vendors, and corn inspired snacks like corndogs and popcorn.   Admission is $10 per person and free for children 3 and under.

Zombie Pub Crawl
When: October 18
Where: Downtown Baton Rouge
Time: 5 PM-2 AM
The Zombie Pub Crawl starts at the Live After 5 in the 10/31 Consortium tent at 5 p.m.  Zombie Makeup Applications: 7 p.m.-8 p.m. A schedule of all stops and signature Halloween Parade beads will be handed out at the Belle of Baton Rouge ! You must be dressed as a zombie and have our signature Halloween Parade bead in order to receive the drink specials. Each location will have a special drink just for zombies. Vote on your favorite zombie drink at the end of the night!

Boo at the Zoo
When: October 19
Where: Baton Rouge Zoo
Time: 9:30 AM-4 PM
The Zoo invites participants to Boo at the Zoo, a merry-not-scary trick-or-treating extravaganza. Participants should wear their best costumes and visit treat stations throughout the Zoo or wander through the merry-not-scary Hay Maze and Enchanted Swamp. Regular Zoo admission applies. Admission gates open 9:30am - 4:00pm. Grounds close at 5pm. Regular Zoo Admission Applies. Free for Members!

Bridge City Gumbo Festival
When: October 11-13
Where: Grounds of Holy Guardian Angels Church
"Continuous live entertainment on an outdoor stage with a dance floor assures you a most pleasant visit to the Gumbo Festival. You will enjoy Cajun, Country, Zydeco, Jazz, Blues and Rock & Roll music. Kids will enjoy the many carnival rides and games. Shop numerous types of arts & crafts booth. The Gumbo Capital of the World honors its royalty with a weekend celebrating festival queens from throughout the state of Louisiana. See King Creole Gumbo and Miss Creole Gumbo's formal coronation."

Lafreniere Park A Boo Halloween Festival
When: October 25-27
Where: Lafreniere Park
Park-A-Boo is a 3 day Halloween Festival primarily for children under 13 years to costume and enjoy the Halloween season. Multiple attractions allow a variety of activities that are age appropriate for families to enjoy together.

Chauvin Culture and Heritage Festival
When: October 5
Where: American Legion
Time: 10 AM-11 PM
The annual Chauvin Culture and Heritage Festival will feature a jambalaya cook-off, pirogue race, Blessing of the Fleet, craft show, Halloween Trick or Treating and Costume Contest, live music, and much more. This is a free, family-friendly event.

Voice of the Wetlands Festival
When: October 12-13
Where: The Ponderosa
Time: 12 PM
Come enjoy a weekend-long celebration at the Ponderosa, with live music, Cajun cuisine, a kids' zone, craft vendors, and more. For a fee, limited space for RV and tent camping is available.

Rougarou Festival
When: October 26-27
Where: Courthouse Square in Houma
Time: 10 AM-10 PM
The annual Rougarou Fest will feature live music, cultural activities, children’s activities, Cajun food, the Krewe Ga Rou parade, and more. Family-friendly. Admission is free. All proceeds go to the South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center.

Blues, Brews and BBQ
When: October 5
Where: 5124 E. St. Bernard Hwy. Violet, LA 70092
Time: 12-6 PM
Join the St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce at Docville Farm, October 5, for an afternoon of Blues, Brews and BBQ! With live performances from Big Al & the Heavyweights, Paula & The Pontiacs, The Lost Riders, J and the Causeways, and the Marc Stone Band with special guests John Mooney and Benny Turner. A variety of local and national craft beers plus our very own Blues-Berry Lemonade will quench your thirst, while BBQ from pit masters like The Smoking Buddha BBQ, Central City BBQ, Beaucoup Eats, and Deswine Intervention will fire you up. A harmonica workshop at 12:30pm will be offered with free harmonicas for the first 200 attendees.

Trunk or Treat
When: October 11
Where: Sidney D. Memorial Park
Time: 6-9 PM
St. Bernard Parish Leisure Department will host the 4th annual Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. The event will take place in Sidney D. Memorial Park in Chalmett and is FREE to the public.

Sugar Fest
When: October 12
Where: Old Arabi
Time: 1-9 PM
The Old Arabi Neighborhood Association will hold the Sugar Fest in the Historic neighborhood of Old Arabi from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Festival will be held at the Aycock Barn at 409 Aycock St. There will be food, live music, kid's activities,a cooking contest, crafts, and more.

Boo on the Bayou
When: October 27
Where: 2501 Archbishop Hannan Blvd Meraux, LA
Come join the Chalmette High School Key Club and the St. Bernard-Arabi Kiwanis Club for our fifth annual family friendly Halloween festival, Boo on the Bayou!  The day will feature trick or treating, arts and crafts, games, a pumpkin patch, face painting, bounce houses, and much more!  Admission to the grounds is free and all children's activities will be included with a pay one price wristband for $5.  All proceeds from this event are invested right back into St. Bernard Parish as they support our many community service and outreach projects throughout the year.  A detailed performance schedule will be posted once it is finalized!  We hope to see you there!

La Fete Des Vieux Temps
When: October 4-6
Where: Raceland
Called the "Festival of Old Times" this event features a celebration of music, dancing, Cajun food, and arts & crafts show. Come to enjoy the food and drinks, carnival rides.

Louisiana Gumbo Festival
When: October 11-13
Where: Chackbay
2019 will mark the 48th annual Louisiana Gumbo Festival in Chackbay! This Cajun festival features seafood and chicken and sausage gumbo cooked from scratch. Enjoy great Cajun food, carnival rides, and live music. For more information, click here!

French Food Festival
When: October 25-27
Where: Larose
Enjoy over 20 local specialty dishes along with dancing and music. Folklife demonstrations that showcase the Cajun lifestyle can be seen.

Haunts and Horror in Da Park
When: October 25-26
Where: Peltier Park Recreation Pavilion
Steeped in the shadows of Thibodaux is the Horror in Da Park Haunted House Event.  If you are brave enough to enter then step into the scary Peltier Park Recreation Pavilion to see the dust and cobwebs, hear the creaking doors and echoing screams of ghosts, and feel the sensation of being grabbed on the arm and pushed and pulled as you fearlessly or fearfully roam the creepy premises.
